Broadband for the Bush Alliance (B4BA) is a collaborative initiative dedicated to improving digital inclusion across regional, rural, and remote Australia. Our work centers on advocating for equitable access to digital services—such as broadband internet, telecommunications, and telehealth—for people living in Australia’s most isolated communities.

Our Vision

We envision a digitally enabled remote Australia—where individuals, communities, and organizations have the tools, access, and knowledge to thrive in the digital age.

Who We Are

Established as a united voice for the bush, B4BA brings together a wide range of stakeholders—from community organizations and local governments to researchers, service providers, and advocates. We work collectively to address the digital divide through collaboration, policy advocacy, education, and awareness.

We are proud to partner with dedicated organizations including Desert Knowledge Australia (DKA), Easyweb Digital, Hitnet, and Leep Ngo, among many others. Each of our members brings unique perspectives and strengths, enriching our mission to empower remote and regional communities.

What We Do

  • Host national forums and roundtables to engage communities and policy makers
  • Promote digital inclusion through leadership, research, and knowledge-sharing
  • Highlight community stories and showcase regional innovation
  • Advocate for reliable and affordable telecommunications services
  • Support research initiatives, including nationwide surveys on internet access and telehealth

Our work is driven by a strong belief: location should not limit connection.

Our Journey

Since our inception, B4BA has played a pivotal role in shaping the conversation around digital equity in the bush. Through strategic partnerships, public forums, and member-led initiatives, we’ve fostered a growing movement committed to bridging the digital divide.

Our efforts have helped shape key policies, bring attention to under-served communities, and support innovative digital programs in the heart of Australia.
